Bloody Bones
Pam Yelverton
A rural farming community in North Carolina, Eureka is the sort of place where
everyone knows everyone else, down to the skeletons in the closet. The
Blount farm has been in the family for generations, and aging Abram Blount
desperately wants to preserve this legacy for his orphaned granddaughter,
12-year-old Samantha. Steadfastly refusing to part with his land, he becomes
a victim when vandals poison his calves, burn his barn, and damage the
tractor. Abram knows the corrupt R. A. Lancaster is to blame, but he can’t
expect justice from the local police force. He turns to an old Confederate
legend for vengeance. As the story goes, reciting an incantation, spilling
human blood, and letting it flow into a certain well under the devil’s
moon raises the spirit of Bloody Bones who takes brutal revenge on one’s
enemies. But Bloody Bones is not the only ghost wandering the woods….
